Forget the code(s) I posted, seems like No$gba doesn’t handle memory the same way a real DS does.

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009Code fix
Monday, June 15th, 2009I’ve gotten my code wrong in the last post; I didn’t read the link carefully enough, and it looks like that site was talking about AR codes for PS2 and not DS.
This site seems to know what it’s talking about though, so I’ll be writing my codes based on that.
The code should work with most flashcarts.
Infinite cash
00120d38 7fffffff
Random info – the timer used in the game is stored at 0x20e8e8. It seems to be counting the number of frames that have passed (so every 0x3c ~= 1 second)

Yu-Gi-Oh! Infinite DP
Thursday, June 11th, 2009So, I kinda got bored with taking 20 minutes to play a match only to get a few measly (~100) points. Each booster pack costs 150DP, so collecting all the cards is quite a chore, no?
The solution?
I haven’t hacked games in a long time, but I just had to do it with this one. I used Renegade64 with No$gba2.4a, which I luckily still had on my old pc.
If anyone wants to use it, what you want to do is write 0x7fffffff to 0x00120d38 to get 2 billion DP. It looks like a signed 32-bit variable to me, so that’s the max. I forgot how to write Action Replay codes, so you’ll have to figure that part out yourself ;P
edit:
So I stopped being lazy and looked it up, apparently it’s just:
20120d38 7fffffff
> http://home.comcast.net/~dstrobri/commands.html (32-bit constant write)
edit2:
It looks like it’s not *actually* at 2 billion after all despite writing that value into memory. I’ve managed to get the numbers rolling again after spending about 150,000DP. (I only modified the game memory once instead of doing constant writes.)
Either that, or buying parts from the bike shop caps my DP to 9,999,999. Which would be strange, since that doesn’t seem to happen in the card shop.

Guess the game.
Wednesday, June 10th, 2009Firstly, we have these screenies:

Confused as to why I’d be playing a game like this? Well look again:

The new Yu-Gi-Oh! game (which I mentioned in my last post) actually contains segments where you have to race. What this has to dueling is completely beyond my understanding. Why can’t they just make a normal dueling game?
The shopkeepers are sooooo lame – they cosplay monsters >.>

But I haven’t played Yu-Gi-Oh! in a long time and it’s a fun game, so maybe I’ll stick with it for a while.
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Stardust Accelerator
Tuesday, June 9th, 2009Kinda got sidetracked with the newest Yu-Gi-Oh! game >.>
Some funny quotes though:
“This is our turf! Get out of here, or I’ll beat you in a Duel!”
“How the Deck did I lose?”
…you get the idea.
逆転検事update
Thursday, June 4th, 2009Finally finished case 2 during lunch break today
Case 1: 逆転の来訪者 (Turnabout Visitor) – completed, ~60 minutes
Case 2: 逆転エアライン (Turnabout Airline) – completed, ~180 minutes
> Case 3: さらわれる逆転 (Swept Away Turnabout) – 0%
Case 4: ??? – 0%
Case 5: ??? – 0%
Turnabout Airline (case 2) turned out to be much longer than I expected. So far it’s been pretty fun. I really like the new Logic mode, but getting stuck there isn’t fun – trying every combination of 2 out of a large bunch of pieces of information gets a bit tedious.
English version is coming out at the end of the year according to Wikipedia, happy waiting for those who can’t play the Japanese version
Pet projects
Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009I’ll start making updates on my projects here to keep me updated (after all, how many people read my blog? xP)
The reason for this post is that now I’ve got codenames for my projects. That’s right, I’m that geeky.
Right now, I have two ongoing projects.
First, we have Project Speed, which I’ve been working on for quite some time now. All previous posts about a secret project is about this project.
My newer project which I started only a few days ago will be Project Plankton. This one is actually something I’ve wanted to do for ages but never quite had the proper knowledge as to how to go about doing it. However, I think I’ve learnt enough during this semester, and I’m giving it a shot.
Yeah, I know, I didn’t actually say anything. All projects are secret until they’re at some stage where I can show off what they do
Oh, and congrats if you can figure out where I’m getting my codenames from, but don’t tell anyone – let people figure it out for themselves
